FRANKLINTON— John E. Alston, 87, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Louisburg Nursing Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Louisburg. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, Wake Forest.

Surviving: wife, Vernelle P. Alston of Franklinton; daughters, Phyllis Alston of Franklinton and Cheryl A. Perry of Rolesville; sisters, Wyvent A. Hadden of Upper Marlboro, Md.; brother, Percy Alston of Temple Hills, Md.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
