RACHEL PEARCE HARPER


THOMASVILLE - Rachel Pearce Harper, 62,  died Monday, April 12, 2010. A memorial service was Wednesday, April 14 at Cumby Family Funeral Home Chapel in Archdale. Interment and graveside service was at Youngsville Town Cemetery, Youngsville on Thursday, April 15.

She was daughter of the late Willie S. and Eunice Holmes Pearce of Youngsville.

She was a graduate of W.W. Holding Technical Institute. She was a lab technician. She has been employed at High Point Regional Hospital, the office of Dr. L.S. Averette, and 26 years with Piedmont Urological Associates as founder of the Rachel P. Harper Laboratory. She was a charter member of the North Carolina Highway Patrol State Auxiliary, where she was an active member until her death. She was also a past-president of the High Point Chapter of Medical Assistants. She was a member of Youngsville United Church in Youngsville.

Surviving: husband, Robert D. Harper of the home; sons, R. Dwayne Harper Jr. (Robin) of Trinity and S. Travis Harper (Lisa) of Laurinburg; four grandchildren; brother, Billy Pearce (Suzanne) of Lake Gaston; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
