JOHNNY RAY AYSCUE


CASTALIA - Johnny Ray Ayscue, 49, died Saturday, May 22, 2010.  He was born April 30, 1961 in Nash County.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 26) in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dal Coppedge, the Rev. Danny James and the Rev. Robbie Piper officiating.  Burial will follow at the Ayscue/Bobbitt Cemetery at the family’s home. The family will receive visitors at the home following the graveside service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene W. Ayscue, and a brother, Eugene W. Ayscue Jr.

He was a member of the Fellowship of Praise Church of God in Rocky Mount, where he served on the usher board.  He was a member and co-founder of the Guardians of the Cross Biker’s Ministry.

Surviving: wife, Theresa Bobbitt Ayscue; two sons, Johnny Andru Ayscue (Christie) of Spring Hope, Travis Gene Ayscue (fiancĂ©  Melissa Strickland) of Nashville;  his mother, Margaret Mosley Ayscue of Castalia; father-in-law, Charles A. Bobbitt; mother-in-law, Idalene M. Taylor; adopted daughter, Shelly Honeycutt (Joseph) of Waxhaw; one brother, Steve Ayscue (Kimberly) of Castalia; three sisters, Daphine Vance (Bill) of Nashville, Bonnie Varner (Larry) of Louisburg, Angel Schneller (Harold) of Wake Forest;  four grandchildren; and three adopted grandchildren.
