ZEBULON - Russell Everette Raper, 71, of the City of Oaks, died Saturday, May 22, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Saturday, May 29) at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell.

A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late Lullian F. and Martha Renfrow Raper.

Surviving: his siblings, Erline Creech (Billy) of Zebulon, Crystle Pauline Weeks (Keith) of Bedford, Va., Roland Raper (Doris) of Selma, Fred Raper (Elise) of Raleigh and Monty Raper of Zebulon.
