GLENDALE, Calif. -Harlan Stuart Nelms, formerly of Franklinton (born in Louisburg), died Sunday, May 16, 2010. A memorial service is planned for June 6 at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton, followed by a visitation in the fellowship hall of Franklinton Baptist Church.

Surviving: his mother, Kay Moore Strickland (Alvin) of Franklinton; father, Edward Lorenzo Nelms (Joyce) of Kernersville; sister, Evelyn Nelms Goswick of Franklinton; brother, Gary Edward Nelms (DeLon) of Raleigh; three nieces; four nephews; 10 grand-nieces; and six grand-nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Elaine Nelms, and a brother, Eric Kent Nelms.
