JAMES D. “PETE EDWARDS


PRINCETON - James David “Pete” Edwards, 72, died Saturday, June 26, at his home. Funeral services were Tuesday, June 29, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the Rev. Vance Harrell and the Rev. Marcus Riggs officiating. Burial, with Masonic Rites, followed in the Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens.

Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late W. B. “Bud” and Thelma Tyner Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Dwayne Edwards.

Surviving: wife, Leta Goulde Narron Edwards; sons, James David Edwards Jr. (Jenny) of Selma and Dwight L. Edwards (Marty) of Princeton; daughter, Desireé Elaine Campion (George) of Princeton; brother, Walter Ralph Edwards of Selma; sister, Shirley Ponder of Louisburg; and five grandchildren.
