JAMES E. WELCH


FRANKLINTON—James Edward Welch, 77, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at his home.  A memorial service will be held Friday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at his home, 898 West Green Street, Franklinton.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Raeford Welch. 

Surviving: his wife, Wilma Day Welch; daughters, Elizabeth Marie Rosales Mateo (Fernando) of Franklinton, Wanda Faye Holden (Wallace) of Aiken, S.C.; son, James Edwin Welch (Susan) of Franklinton; sisters, Doris Fields of Columbia, S.C., Claudette Beck of Lexington, S.C., Linda McDougal of Franklinton and Sandra Brazell of Gaston, S.C.; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday, June 30) from 7 to 9 at his home, 898 West Green St., Franklinton.

The flag in front of the funeral home flies at half-staff in honor of Mr. Welch’s service to his country where he served in the United States Air Force.

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.
