YOUNGSVILLE —Willie Rudolph “Rudy” Evans, 91, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 18) at Youngsville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Stratton officiating. Burial will follow in the Youngsville Town Cemetery.

He was born in Bertie County, son of the late Nannie Bryant Evans and Thomas P. Evans. He was a graduate of Campbell College and Wake Forest College and taught math and science at Youngsville School before entering the U.S. Navy during WWII.
