WILLOW SPRING - Joyce Young Ferrell, 60, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006 at her home. Funeral services, officiated by her nephew, the Rev. David Cash, were conducted Sunday, Sept. 17, in the Mitchell Funeral Home chapel, St. Mary’s Street, Raleigh. Interment followed at Falls of the Neuse Cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late William Alfred Young and Juanita McDonald Young. Mrs. Ferrrell was an engraver for more than 17 years, a dispatcher for Campbell University, and also an office assistant for Sir Walter Apartments until her retirement in 2002.

Surviving: her husband, Larry C. Ferrell; son, Wranchar Vernon “Bear” Parrish (Teresa) of Benson; daughter, Melissa Ferrell Carey (Paul) of Raleigh; sisters, Peggy C. Denton (Marvin) of Dayton, Tenn., Brenda S. Walters of Raleigh; one granddaughter; 10 nieces and nephews.
