JOSEPH D. WILSON


FRANKLINTON — Joseph Douglas Wilson, 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 at Britthaven in Louisburg. Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 3, at Flowers Funeral Chapel in Henderson, conducted by the Rev. Sam Brewer and the Rev. Clyde Waiden. Burial followed in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church cemetery.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Albert Sidney and Thelma Grace Pendleton Wilson. He was a retired boiler operator at Burlington Mills, Inc.

Surviving: sons, Joseph Avon Wilson of Henderson, Shelton Ray Wilson of Bullock and Curtis Tant of Wake Forest; sisters, Alice Fay W. Smith of Clayton and Thelma Mae W. Wheeler of Franklinton; brother, Crawford Sidney Wilson of Henderson; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lettie Hayes, and two brothers, Buster Wilson and Charles Wilson.
