CASTALIA - Mabel Bissette Scarboro, 86, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 13, at Bethany Baptist Church, Wendell, with the Rev. Phil Brantley and the Rev. Robert R. Boone officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was born in Nash County to the late Z. C. Bissette and Gennie Lee Boykin Bissette. She retired from the NC Department of Human Resources at Drug Research Tech.

Surviving: son, Marvin Thomas “Tommy” Scarboro (Salley) of Castalia; sister, Lida Blalock of Lucama; brothers, Wib Bissette of Bailey and Don Bissette of Knightdale; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
