LOUIS T. PERDUE


LOUISBURG - Louis Thurman Perdue, 72, a lifelong native of Franklin County, died peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2010, at Duke University Medical Center after a lengthy illness.  He was a lifelong farmer and member of Trinity United Methodist Church.  He was the son of the late Thurman Hight Perdue and the late Mary Helen Cottrell Perdue, born on June 16, 1938.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Ann P. Peoples, and a brother, Philip Sterling Perdue. 

He is survived by his wife, Grace Champion Perdue; his daughter, Kathy Perdue Shearin of Louisburg; his son, Tony Dale Perdue of Louisburg; his sister, Beckie Perdue Stamper and husband, Bob of Henderson; his grandchildren, Maximillian B. Perdue of Cary and Nicholas E. Shearin of Louisburg; his son-in-law, Ed Shearin of Louisburg; his daughter-in-law, Mitsu Suyemoto of Cary; his sister-in-law, Joan S. Perdue of Boone; and many loving cousins.

Funeral services were held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel.  Burial followed in Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family received friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg, and at all other times at the home.
