MURRIE BROWN JR.


FAYETTEVILLE - Funeral services for Murrie Brown Jr. were held on Friday, Sept. 1, 2006 at Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

He was born Aug. 8, 1931 in Louisburg to the late Murrie Brown Sr. and Mary Baker Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Ware; his son, Charles Dues, son-in-law, Gerardo Burgos and sisters, Annie and Dorothy.

Surviving: sons Raymond Dues and wife Flora of Connecticut, Van Dues and wife Teresa of Fayetteville, Maurice Brown of Germany and Dunitz Brown of Fayetteville; daughters, Carole Billingsly and husband Steve of Ohio, Cheryl Dues of Ohio and Pam Burgos of Fayetteville; daughters-in-law, Betty Dues of Spring Lake and Tina Brown of Germany; sisters, Maxine Leonard of Louisburg and Margaret Payton of New Jersey; 23 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
