YOUNGSVILLE - Constance Lee “Connie” Matzner, 67, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Nov. 19, at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, with Father Philip Tighe officiating. Burial was at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church cemetery.

She was born in Mercer County, Pa., the daughter of the late Martin R. Platko and Cora Shelters Platko, and was retired from Corning/AVX after 23 years of service.

Surviving: husband, Victor Loretto Matzner I; children, Victor L. Matzner II (Lisa) of Bunn, Rachel E. Matzner of Youngsville, Robin M. Wright (Scott) of Wake Forest, Christian M. Matzner of Wake Forest and Luis Reyes of Creedmoor; siblings, Margaret, Paul and Joan; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eric Jon Matzner; two grandsons; brother, Tom; and sister, Pauline.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710.
