LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Bell “Mookie” Washington, 66, who died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 4) at Haywood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Luther Coppedge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, Clara W. Branch of Louisburg and Shirley Jean Washington of Norfolk, Va.; sons, Milton Lee Washington Jr. of Chesapeake, Va., William Henry Washington and Ray McKinley Washington, both of Norfolk, Va.; sister, Alice “Shorty” Gray of Hampton, Va.; and one brother, Willie Henry Williams; 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
