LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Mr. Joseph H. Alston, 91, who died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Fork Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Luther Alston Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Alston family cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Sarah B. Alston; daughters, Cynthia Wooten of Washington, D.C., Ruth E. Elsey of Boston, Mass., Lottie Mae Tucker, Betty Jean Alston, and Peggy Alston, all of Louisburg, Barbara Alston, Josephine Alston, Audrey Alston and Queen Alston, all of Warrenton; sons, Nathaniel Alston and Dennis Alston, both of Louisburg; sisters, Roxie Davis of Warrenton and Carrie Alston of Brooklyn, N.Y.; brothers, Frederick Alston of Warrenton and Abraham Alston of Alabama; 39 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.

Wake services will be from 7 to 8 tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 4), at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
