LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Carrie Alston Solomon, 71, who died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, Hilda Solomon of Louisburg, Vanessa Durham of the home, and Shirley Thorpe of Durham; sons, Carlton Solomon of Louisburg, Cornelius Solomon of Durham, Ricky Thorpe of Leland, Tony Thorpe of Fayetteville, and Anthony Thorpe of Raleigh; sister, Shirley Mae Austin of Louisburg; brother, James Alston of Newark, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Wake will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
