LOUISBURG - George Thurston “Big Boy” Allen, 85, of Louisburg died Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Fannie Harris Allen; son, Harold T. Allen; sisters, Tempie Wester, Mattie Winstead and Neva Moon; and a brother, Felix Allen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from Maple Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jay Telley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Elizabeth Parrish Allen; grandsons, Rodney Allen and wife, Maribeth of Louisburg, and Neil Allen of Louisburg; great grandchildren, Ryley and Christian Allen; several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends Friday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funerals and Cremations, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.
