FRANKLINTON - William Solomon Egerton, 62, died Wednesday Jan. 5, 2011 at Franklin Regional Medical Center in Louisburg. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 9, at New Life Outreach Ministry, Franklinton, with Elder Donothan Muldrow officiating. Interment was in the Manasseh Chapel Baptist Church cemetery, Franklinton.

He was born in Franklin County to Mary Perry Egerton and the late Moses Egerton.

He was a graduate of B. F. Person Albion High School of Franklinton. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran and was a retired employee of Pratt Industries.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Emily Todd.

Surviving: wife, Bernestine Lucas Egerton of the home; daughter, Kristina Lucas; sons, Orlando Lucas of Denver, Colo., and Terrance Lucas of Smithfield; mother, Mary Elizabeth Egerton of Franklinton; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildrren.
