RALEIGH — Estelle Strickland Pearce, 98, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at Springmoor Health Center in Raleigh. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan.  14, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Wake Forest Cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Clara Benton Strickland and Arthur Strickland; she taught school for many years.

Surviving: son, Horace Winston Pearce, Jr. (Marina) of White Hall, Md.; sisters, Hula Wilson of Spring Hope and Helen Anderson of Raleigh; brother, Carl Strickland of Rocky Mount; and nine grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service Friday at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.
