CHARLES W. WYNNE


FRANKLINTON —Charles Weldon Wynne, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Perry’s Chapel Baptist Church, Franklinton, with the Rev. Clyde Waiden officiating.

Born in Warren County, he was the son of Blanch Knight Wynne and Barker Wynne Sr. He had worked for Burlington Industries and was retired from the Town of Louisburg as superintendent of the Louisburg Water and Electric Department after 22 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Barker Wynne Jr. and Jack Wynne; sisters, Ruby Walker, Jean Wynne and Fay Barnett; one son, Brooks Warren Wynne.

Surviving: wife, Betty Smith Wynne; sisters, Ethel Moody (Alton) of Hopewell, Va., Louise Bently of Chicago, and Catherine Fowler of Kittrell; sons, Michael L. Wynne of Richmond, Va. and David Rollins Wynne of Louisburg; daughter, Myra W. Wood (Ronnie) of Louisburg; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and stepchildren.
