YOUNGSVILLE - Benjamin M. Brown, Jr., 65, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 1:30 p.m. at Youngsville Baptist Church in Youngsville. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. A private burial will be held in Nichols, S.C.

He was born in Wilmington to Annell Walker Brown and the late Benjamin M. Brown, Sr. He was raised in Nichols, S.C. and graduated from Mullins High School.

He is also a graduate of the University of Georgia. He served his country as a Green Beret in the Special Forces of the United States Army. He was employed by Carolina Components and later by Carolina Builders.

Surviving: wife, Sue Page Brown, of the home; his children, Page Brown Abernathy (Mitch) of Lincolnton, Benjamin M. Brown III (Julie) of Charleston, S.C; his mother, Annell Walker Brown of Nichols, S.C; sisters, Sandra Brown Turbeville of Irmo, S.C., and Patty Brown Wiggins of Charleston, SC.; two grandsons; and one granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, persons may make a contribution to the Youngsville Baptist Church, 315 East Main Street, Youngsville, NC  27596.
