LAURENZO S. KING


FRANKLINTON - Laurenzo Smith King, 79, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011,  at Franklin Regional Medical Center in Louisburg. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 16, at First Baptist Church in Franklinton, with Dr. Coolidge McCoy officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

He was born in Philadelphia  to the late James and Martha King.  He was a 1949 graduate of South Philadelphia High School. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1950-53, and was employed for 34 years by Colonial Beef Company of Philadelphia, retiring in 1993. He moved to North Carolina in 1993.

Surviving: wife, Rosetta T. King of the home; sisters, Romaine Flamer, Hortense King, Alma King, Elaine Hinton, Jeanette K. Coleman, Jackie King and Florence King; brothers, Alvin King (Irene) and Norman King (Gwendolyn), all of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
