ZEBULON - Rochelle Strickland Long, 94, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011. Funeral services will be today (Wednesday, March 2) at 2 p.m. at Zebulon Baptist Church.

She was born in Middlesex to Jasper and Temple Strickland. She was a lifetime member of Zebulon Baptist Church. She was a recipient of the Zebulon Citizen of the Year award and was also honored by the Rotary Club by the presentation of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award.

Surviving: children, Luther (Eloise) of Wilson, Charles (Wanda) of Garner and Randy (Catherine) of Zebulon; sisters, Odell Strickland, Ercelle Hales and Wynelle McGhee; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Luther B. Long; brothers, J. W. Bobby and Percelle; sister, Mozelle Upchurch.; stepson, Cameron D. Long; and one step-grandchild; and one granddaughter.
