FRANKLINTON - Funeral services for George Harris Jr., 73, who died Friday, March 4, 2011, will be held Saturday, March 12, at 10 a.m. at Franklinton Elementary School Gymnasium, with the Rev. Calvin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Mary C. Harris of the home; daughters, Edith Reneé Pender of Wake Forest, Georgia Mae Crudup of Franklinton and E. Bridget Harris of Philadelphia, Pa.; sons, Charles B. Harris of South Africa, Calvin L. Harris and George Howard Harris III, both of Franklinton, and Gerald “Tony” Harris of Youngsville; sisters, Little Rose Harris and Queen Victoria Harris, both of Franklinton; brother, Tony Rodgers of Raleigh; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Open visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 11, at the Franklin County Sunday School and Baptist Training Union Convention Center, 211 Dogwood Lane, Franklinton.
