FRANKLINTON - Vera Hight Parham died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton Chapel from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM. Family will meet at other times at the home of Howard and Donna Parham in Franklinton.

Vera was born in Franklin County to Joseph and Bessie Hight. She attended Franklinton City Schools. She was a homemaker.

Vera was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church, where she served as the Nursery Director for many years. She kept many children in her home during her lifetime. She was very devoted for her love of children.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jake) Parham and a brother, Mike Hight.

Surviving: Children, Barbara Parham Johnston (Calvin) of Henderson, Howard Parham (Donna) of Franklinton, Richard “Dick” Parham (Kay) of Raleigh, Sandra Parham Dickey (Donald) of Roxboro; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
