LOUISBURG - Funeral services for James Irby Hilliard, 70, who died Monday, March 21, 2011, were held Friday, March 25, at Nelson Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Emma Solomon officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Surviving: sisters, Shirley H. McDuffie of Charlotte, Ruth Phillips and Rose McKnight, both of Raleigh; brothers, Gene Hilliard, Thomas Hilliard and Frank Hilliard, all of the home, and Ronald Hilliard of Wilson.
