KITTRELL - Mary Catlett Alford, 82, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10, in the chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton, with the Rev. Clyde Waiden officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

She was born in Vance County to the late Joe Catlett and Anna Robinson Catlett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vernon “Lefty” Alford, and a sister, Lillie Mae Faulkner.

Surviving: daughter, Anna Sherron (Joel) of Kittrell; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.

Friends may visit from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
