LOUISBURG – Christine Evans Burnette, 88, died Sunday afternoon, April 10, 2011. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, April 13) in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Butch Gordon and the Rev. Jimmy Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

She was the daughter of the late Percy Wilson and Sadie Burnette Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.G. “Jack” Burnette, and her son, Carlton E. Burnette.

Surviving: daughter, Joy Thorne (Mark) of Louisburg; and three sisters-in-law.

The family received friends Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg.
