YOUNGSVILLE - Larry Bass, 58, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 16, at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Samuel T. Tunstall officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

He was born in  Franklin County to the late Deacon Donald Bass and Deaconess Hellen Lucille Bass. He was a graduate of Franklinton High School. He was employed with Estes Express Lines of Raleigh as a truck driver for 35 years until his health declined.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald (Peter) Bass, Jimmy Bass and McArthur Yarbough; and a sister, Lorraine B. Jones.

Surviving: son, Lance Julius Bass; daughter, Janel Lucille Bass, both of Raleigh; brothers, Willie Lee Bass (Linda) of Butner and Ricky Bass (Sharon) of Henderson; sisters, Brenda B. Crump (Thomas, of Raleigh and JoAnn B. Watson of Franklinton; and a number of other relatives and friends.
