FUQUAY-VARINA— William Morton Mitchell, 75, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Ennis St., Fuquay-Varina. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh.

He was born in Wake County to the late William C. and Lallie Morton Mitchell. He was also predeceased by his son, Jeff Mitchell.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and was an insurance agent in his community for 26 years.

Surviving: son, Todd Mitchell of Houston, Tex.; sister, Joyce Lee (Calvin) of Fuquay-Varina; brothers, Clyde Mitchell (Bunny) of Raleigh and Ralph Mitchell (Irene) of Louisburg; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
