ZEBULON - Annie Pearce High, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Corinth Baptist Church, 13450 NC Highway 96, Zebulon, with the Rev. Will Abernethy and Dr. Carl Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County to the late John Omega Pearce and Blanche Davis Pearce. She was a retired machine operator with Corning Glass Works.

Surviving: son, Dwight Landon High (Cissy) of Zebulon; daughter, Ellen High Marshall (Stewart) of Louisburg; sisters, Grey P. Baker of Knightdale, Virginia “Ginny” Wheless of Louisburg; brothers, Bill Pearce of New Britain, Conn., Louis “Bubba” Pearce (Alice) of Wake Forest;  five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Dwight High, and brothers, Roger L. “Snapper” Pearce, Lee Pearce and Joe Pearce.

The family will receive relatives and friends in the church fellowship hall following the service until 8:30 p.m..
