LOUISBURG - Walter Greenwood Wheeler Jr., 70, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury.

He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Walter G. Wheeler and Lola Alice Mangum Wheeler. He was a retired veteran of the U. S. Army.

Surviving: wife, Edith Terry Wheeler; daughters, Susan Wheeler of Louisburg and Teresa Gunn of Greenville, S. C.;  brothers, Daniel Wheeler (Elizabeth) of Durham and Ricky Turlington of Raleigh; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
