LOUISBURG – William C. Johnson, Sr. 88, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006 in Raleigh. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Hephzibah Baptist Church, Wendell. Burial followed in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Raleigh.

He was born in Portsmouth, Va., son of the late William and Lucy Balsam Johnson. He was retired manager with Colonial Stores and a World War II veteran.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Minton Johnson; one grandson; sister, Catherine Self.

Surviving: his daughter Ginny Hughes (Mike) of Richmond, Va.; sons, Stephen Johnson (Lynette) of Louisburg and William Johnson Jr. of Raleigh; and eight grandchildren
