YOUNGSVILLE —Horace Gray Murphy, 67, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011. Funeral service was held Friday, Nov. 25, at Flat Rock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Harvey Alexander and Gwen Hill Murphy. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Raleigh Office Supply after many years of service.

Surviving: wife, Alice Cash Murphy of Youngsville; sons, C. Todd Murphy of Raleigh and Brian Murphy (Christie) of Youngsville; sisters, Elaine Bennett (Denny) of Aiken, S.C., Linda Kaid (Latif) of Youngsville; brothers, Harvey C. Murphy (Cheryl) of Bahama, Jimmie Murphy (Kay) of Youngsville; and two grandsons.
