LOUISBURG - Cora Mae Harper Hayes, 79, died Monday evening, Nov. 28, 2011 at Hospice of Wake County in Raleigh. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. at Duke Memorial Baptist Church, with Pastor Jake Dorak officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Whit Hayes.

Surviving: son, Barry W. Hayes (Linda); sisters, Elaine Knott and Marie Smith, both of Louisburg, and Wordna Collins of Chesapeake, Va.; brothers, James Harold Harper (Mildred), Forest C. Harper (Sonny), all of Louisburg; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
