FRANKLINTON- Robert E. “Ned” Hudson, 79, died Tuesday evening Dec. 20, 2011 at the Franklin Oaks Nursing Center in Louisburg. A funeral service was held Friday afternoon, Dec. 23, at the Living Springs Church of God in Franklinton, with the Rev. Robert Collier and the Rev. Robert Piper Sr. officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.

He was born in Vance County, son of the late Edna Estelle Houk Hudson and James Hudson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Hudson.

Surviving: wife, Margie Hudson; daughters, Gail H. Faircloth of Youngsville, Anne H. Woodlief of Shreveport, La., Lynn H. Creech (Durwood) of Ayden; stepchildren, Joyce Ann Phillips, Tammy Piper and Kim Murray, all of Franklinton, Dale Pleasants of Morganton; sister, Lila Cassell of South Carolina; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and three great-step-grandchildren.
