LOUISBURG – Ellis Wester Young, 81, of Louisburg, passed away Sunday morning.

Ellis was a son of the late Jim Thomas and Nora Cash Young. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Linzy Burnette, Kay Perry and Edith Pippin; brothers, Dykes Young and Pete Young.

Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Steven Wade officiating. Burial followed at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends 1 hour prior to the funeral.

Ellis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty H. Young; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Larry Winstead, Joyce and Bobby Sumner; grandchildren, Logan and Payton Sumner, Miranda and Nolan Winstead; sister and brother-in-law, Janie and James Satterwhite, all of Louisburg; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Dot Young of Franklinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3131 Rdu Center Dr # 100, Morrisville, NC 27560-7687.
