LOUISBURG – Guy Delano Elam, 74, went to be with our Lord January 5, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Elam and Lola Williams Elam; his son, Alan Lynn Elam, and daughter, Donna Elam Hicks; brother, John Elam, Jr.; sisters, Helen Elam Sherrill and Jean Elam Debnam.

Hs is survived by his wife, Julia B. Elam; son, Wesley Elam and wife, Karen of Ocracoke; son, Johnny Elam of Louisburg; sisters, Joan E. Allen and Jackie E. Wilson; brothers, Bill Elam, Bobby Elam and Archie Elam; grandchildren, Taylor Elam, Brittany Elam and Ty Elam.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Sandy Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
