JAMES O. PARKER


FRANKLINTON —James Otis Parker, 50, died  Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Union AME Zion Methodist Church, Wilton, with Pastor Oscar Rush officiating. Interment, Parker’s Memorial.

He was born in Granville County to Erlean Hunt and the late Otis White. He attended Newport News Public Schools, graduating from Denbigh High School in 1980. He served two years in the U.S. Navy. He worked for several years for the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otis White; stepfather, Ralph Hunt; and one nephew.

Surviving: mother, Earlean Hunt; brother, Timothy Parker; sons, Micah and Moses Parker; a number of nieces and nephews.
