WAKE FOREST - Syl Vannus Frazier, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Rolesville Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was born in Franklin County, son of the late Bob and Violet Frazier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death  by a brother, Earle Frazier. He served as a deacon Sunday School teacher, RA leader, and choir member at Rolesville Baptist Church.

Surviving: sisters, Thelma Jones, Lula Barnes McGhee, Pearle Keith (Willard), all of Wake Forest, Myrtle Baker (Derward) of Raleigh; brothers, Roy Frazier of Wake Forest and Ray Frazier (Sandy) of Wilmington; many children and grandchildren of his siblings.
