YOUNGSVILLE —David John Downs, 65, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 . A memorial service will be offered at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Victory Baptist Church, 475 J P Taylor Road, Henderson, with the Rev. Ricky Easter presiding.

He was born in Wyoming County, Pa. and was raised on a family farm in Beaumont, Pa. He worked in the construction hauling and erecting industry for Higgins and most recently for Southern Industrial Constructors.

Surviving: mother, Arlene Eyet Downs of Barker, N.Y.; wife, Margret of the home; daughters, Sarah Day (Willie) of St. Louis, Mo., Lynn Downs of Luzerne, Pa.; sons, Mark Downs (Christina) of Lake Silkworth, Pa., Grant Downs (Melissa) of Harding, Pa., Patrick Downs (Spring) of Henderson; brothers, Herbert Downs of Barker, N.Y., Joel Downs of Beaumont, Pa.; sister, Susan Kehrli of Ithaca, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Hewas preceded in death by his father, Herbert W. Downs.
