YOUNGSVILLE — Richard J. Taylor, 86, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at North Raleigh United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Sunset Memorial Park North, Olmsted, Ohio.

He was a retired entrepreneur and a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific during WWII.

Surviving: wife, Ellen; son, John Taylor (Diane) of Jupiter, Fla.; daughter, Lynette Thurman (Roger) of Youngsville; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to North Raleigh United Methodist Church (Building Fund) or Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
