WENDELL - Josephine Powell “Jo” Mitchell, 93, died Monday, March 5, 2012 at The Oliver House in Wendell. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church cemetery, 3329 Forestville Road, Raleigh.

She was born in Wake County to the late Henry Sanford Powell and Cora Davis Powell. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin Jasper Mitchell and Joseph Edward Hagwood.

Surviving: daughter, Ann H. Brantley of Louisburg;  one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
