FRANKLINTON-Marjorie Bannister Garner, 84, died Friday, March 2, 2012. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, at First Baptist Church in Franklinton, Rev. Andre Johnson, pastor. Interment, Manasseh Memorial, Franklinton.

She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., the daughter of the late Rev. Allen and Bertha Mathis Bannister. She worked in a family-owned cafe in Jacksonville, Fla., and also was employed at Westinghouse Electric in New Jersey.

She and her late husband, Mack, retired to Franklinton in the early 1970’s. She joined First Baptist Church, where she served in different capacities.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lillian Farley, Earl and Allen Bannister.

Surviving: nieces and nephews, Linda Cunningham (Tim), Earlene Bannister, Tizaah Jones-Pollard (Michael), Jack Jackson, Carlos Jackson (Tonya), Damon Jackson, and a host of grandnieces and nephews, and other relatives.
