BURLEY A. CLARK
FRANKLINTON - Burley A. Clark, 76, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Duke University Hospital. 

Funeral services were conducted Friday at 2:00 pm at Perry’s Chapel Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.

Mr. Clark was born in Pitt County, the son of the late Lucy Larue Moore Clark and Lenster Atmoore Clark.  He was a dedicated member of Perry’s Chapel Baptist Church where he was elected to the Board of Trustees, and served as a Deacon for many years. 

He began working with DuPont of Kinston in 1954,  then later was able to turn his passion for hunting and fishing into a career with the NC Wildlife Resource Commission as a Wildlife officer for Franklin County, where he was fondly referred to as “The Game Warden,” and served the people of Franklin and surrounding counties until he retired in 1991.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dot B. Clark; daughter, Bobbie Jo May (Scott) of Louisburg; Robin C. Boyd (Woody) of Seaford, Delaware; grandchildren, Macie May, Clark May, Marina Boyd, and Cassidy Boyd; and loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Wallace of Greenville, and brother, Johnnie A. Clark of Youngsville.
