ZEBULON - Lois Newton Tart, 90, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at her home. Funeral services were held Friday, April 27, at Zebulon Baptist Church, Zebulon, with the Rev. L. Jack Glasgow officiating. En-tombment followed at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.

She was born in Granville County to the late G. L. Jack and Gladys Parham Newton. After moving to Zebulon, she worked for Theo Davis and Sons Printer for 20 years and was an active member of Zebulon Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Surviving: children, Vickie Tart Burlington (Hugh) of Cary, Carl Victor Tart Jr. (Connie) of Bahama; sisters, Virginia Dare Cooke (Silas) of Danville, Va., Jackie Gale (Forest) of Durham; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.V. Tart Sr.; brother, Wayne Newton; and a sister, Estelle N. Guess Strickland.
