EMMA LEE P. BOWDEN


FRANKLINTON —Emma Lee Perry Bowden, 82, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at her home. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, at Synama Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Oxford, with the Rev. Linwood L. Timberlake officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County to the late Kelly Perry and Mary Crudup Perry and was educated in the Franklin County school system. She was a member of Synama Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and pastor’s aid committee.

In addition to her husband, Wilbert Bowden, she was preceded in death by a son, Barry T. Perry, and three brothers, Jasper, George and Joseph Perry.

Surviving: six children,  Carol Tilley of the home and a grandson; Margaret Dunston (Ralph), June Bowden (Mary), Wanda Jackson (John), Wilbert K. Bowden and Daryl Bowden, all of Franklinton; sister, Ella M. Crudup of Franklinton; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
