FRANKLINTON  —   Macon Devoe Harris, 78, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Franklin Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 15, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Flat Rock Baptist Church cemetery.

He was born to the late Phillip Macon Harris & Ossie Mae Braswell Harris. Mr. Harris was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Variety Wholesalers.

Suriving: wife, Mary Weaver Harris; children, Larry K. Harris (Gwen) of Franklinton and Lisa Kaye Harris Turner (Roger) of Myrtle Beach, SC; sisters, Geraldine Eggleston (Thomas) and Janelle Jackson (Bobby),  all of Henderson; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Loretta Harris.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Richland Creek Community Church, Legacy Building Fund, 3229 Burlington Mill Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
