ZEBULON - Crafton Hudson, 83, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Zebulon Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.

He retired after 52 years of combined funeral service with Screws and Hudson and Brown-Wynne Funeral Homes. He was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church for more than 50 years, where he was a deacon and served as Church treasurer, among other duties. He was very involved in the Zebulon Lions Club and was recognized as the Zebulon Citizen of the Year.

Surviving: daughter, Paula Hudson Hildebrand of Wake Forest; son, Crafton Stuart Hudson (Becky) of  Wilmington; sister, Evelyn Hill of Baltimore, Md.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Zebulon Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Zebulon Baptist Church-Believe Campaign, P. O. Box 366, Zebulon, NC 27597 or to the Zebulon Lions Club, P. O. Box 524, Zebulon, NC 27597.
